How does it work?
How to fit
The Cntrl+ Starter Kit comes with three sizes (Small, Medium, Large) and fits about 90% of women, which is honestly a better success rate than most first dates.
Here’s how to find your match:
- Start with the smallest size.
- If it feels too loose or you’re still leaking, don’t panic. Just move up a size.
The whole point is to try them and figure out what feels best for your body. Once you find your fit, you can use it confidently for 30–90+ wears (yes, really). You might even end up liking more than one size, depending on what you’re doing, like workouts vs. everyday life. Because of course your pelvic floor has preferences.
Ready for long-term support? After 30 days with your Starter Kit, you can order your perfect fit anytime with the Cntrl+ Single Size Replacement.
How do I know if I've found my size?
Your anatomy is full of surprises.
But finding your Cntrl+ size? Refreshingly simple.
Start with the Small size in your Cntrl+ Starter Kit, then use this checklist:
You’ve found your perfect size if:
- Your bladder leaks have stopped
- You can empty your bladder normally (no effort, no weirdness)
- Cntrl+ feels comfortable and you barely notice it’s there
Try a smaller size if:
- You’re having trouble emptying your bladder
- It feels uncomfortable or too intense
Try a larger size if:
- You’re still leaking
- Cntrl+ slides down toward the vaginal opening or falls out
Basically: the right size feels like quiet confidence. The wrong size feels like your body filing a complaint.
Tips for insertion
1) First: relax.
Annoying advice, yes. But it’s real.
The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed your pelvic floor muscles are, and the easier insertion will be. This is not an entrance exam.
Take a few deep breaths before inserting.
Gently push out with your pelvic muscles (like you’re having a bowel movement, but classier) while inserting.
It helps relax things and open the vaginal canal.
2) Lubrication is not cheating.
If it feels uncomfortable, don’t power through like it’s a CrossFit workout.
Wet Cntrl+ with warm water, or use a water-based lubricant.
3) Quick anatomy moment.
Your vaginal canal is shaped like a funnel, with the narrowest part right at the opening. So yes, you’ll need to insert Cntrl+ past that narrow point.
It’s normal to feel a little pressure when Cntrl+ moves past the pubic bone.
Your vagina angles back (about 45 degrees) toward your tailbone, not straight up.
Insert Cntrl+ the same direction you’d insert a tampon or menstrual cup.
4) Make sure it’s far enough in.
Good news: you can’t lose Cntrl+ inside your body.
Your body is not a storage unit.
If it feels like it’s slipping out, feels uncomfortable, or you can still feel it after insertion, it’s probably not in far enough. (It can’t be too far in.)
You may feel pressure as it passes the pubic bone, but once it’s in place, it should be unnoticeable.
Cntrl+ should sit past the pubic bone, and the entire device should be inside the vagina.
Quick check: insert a finger until you touch the bottom of the Cntrl+. When it’s positioned correctly, the vaginal opening should be around your second knuckle.

What is Cntrl+
Cntrl+ is a flexible intravaginal device that is shaped like a hollow tampon. Designed to gently keep the urethra closed to prevent bladder leaks when coughing, sneezing, laughing, and exercising without obstructing the ability to urinate.
*Stops leaks in most users, individual results may vary.
**This product is not intended to treat or cure any underlying medical condition. Use only as directed.
What is Cntrl+ made of?
Cntrl+ is made of FDA approved medical grade materials that are latex free and BPA free. Cntrl+ cannot absorb water/fluids which means that it cannot support microbial growth or increase the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Because this material becomes slippery when wet, Cntrl+ is easy to insert and remove.
Who can use Cntrl+?
Any woman over the age of 18 suffering from bladder leaks! Cntrl+ is a safe non-surgical solution for those waiting for surgery, wanting more children, 3 months post-childbirth, and/or those working with a Pelvic Floor Therapist. Cntrl+ likely will not be successful for women suffering from moderate to severe prolapse because the device can be pushed out of position. As a rule of thumb, if you can retain a tampon or menstrual cup, you can use Cntrl+.
How do I use Cntrl+?
Cntrl+ is folded and inserted into the vagina with the narrow tip towards the cervix and the flat side resting against the back of the vaginal wall. The round hollow part rests against the urethra. If vaginal dryness makes it difficult to insert Cntrl+, a dime-sized amount of water-based lubricant can be used on the tip of the device as well as the vaginal opening to assist insertion. The device is soft, flexible and sits comfortably inside the vagina where it supports the urethra. The cotton removal string makes removal easy; simply pull the removal string and the device will re-fold and slide through to the vaginal opening or you can use your index finger to pull it out.
How do I choose the size of my Cntrl+?
The Cntrl+ Starter Kit includes the device in all three sizes, 90 cotton removal strings, and a travel bag. We suggest trying all three sizes in order to determine the right size for your body. Start with the smallest size; if it feels too loose and/or you are still experiencing leakage, continue to go up a size until your Cntrl+ is both comfortable and prevents leakage. Once fitted to the correct size, simply purchase the Single Size Replacement kit in future.
Why do I need to start with the Starter Kit?
Because bodies are not one-size-fits-all.
The Cntrl+ Starter Kit includes Small, Medium, and Large so you can try each size and find the one that fits your body best, comfortably and securely. The right size is what stops leaks and feels like it’s barely there.
And bonus: some women end up loving more than one size, depending on the activity, like one for everyday life and another for workouts.
When should I not use Cntrl+? (the following should all sit under this header)
1. During sexual intercourse.
Remove prior to penetration.
2. During pregnancy or less than 3 months post-partum.
3. If you have a vaginal infection, UTI or STI.
Do not use if you have a vaginal infection or STI. Prescriptions for these conditions are available when ordering your Cntrl+ on our site.
4. Grade 2 (or higher) Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) and/or if you have cystocele.
Stage II POP –the uterus has descended nearly to the opening of the vagina. Cystocele- is
when the wall between the bladder and the vagina weakens. This can cause the bladder to drop or sag into the vagina. You’ll feel a bulge and normally can’t retain a tampon or menstrual cup.
5. In conjunction with a menstrual cup or tampon.
Cntrl+ is undergoing FDA approval and testing for use with tampons and certain menstrual cups.
*Stops leaks in most users, individual results may vary.
*This product is not intended to treat or cure any underlying medical condition. Use only as directed.
* If you’re pregnant (or think you might be), have chronic recurrent UTI’s, severe vaginal or vulvar irritation / inflammation, or you’ve recently had pelvic surgery, trauma, or have anatomical concerns that affect fit, Cntrl+ may not be right for you. When in doubt, check with your doctor first.
